PUPPET-MAKING WORKSHOPS
The Puppet Workshop runs arts/recycling workshops for adults and children of all ages and abilities in schools, community centres, youth clubs, day centres, art galleries and museums. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ONLY WORK IN THE SOUTHAMPTON (HAMPSHIRE) AREA.
We provide all props and materials. All materials are recycled and 100% safe in line with our long-standing commitment to the environment and sustainability.
Workshops currently on offer:
Puppet-making. This is a day-long workshop resulting in complete fully-painted and costumed puppets. Materials used are paper-mache, fabric and paint. Recommended minimum age of children taking part is 8 years because of length of workshop.
Alternatively, a shorter workshop is possible using paper-pulp made to a traditional ancient recipe. This workshop will not result in a finished puppet as the medium used takes some time to dry. However, paper-pulp is a very malleable and enjoyable medium to work with and the head can be painted and costumed on a subsequent workshop or independently.
Musical instruments - Maracas (shakers). Materials used are cardboard, paper-mache and coloured paper. This workshop can be completed in a morning or afternoon.
