PAPIER-MACHE WORKSHOPS
The Puppet Workshop runs arts/recycling workshops for adults and children of all ages and abilities in schools, community centres, youth clubs, day centres, art galleries and museums.
We provide all props and materials and our workshops can last from a few hours to a whole day, depending on the theme/subject and on the specific requirements agreed with the school or centre. All materials are recycled and 100% safe in line with our long-standing commitment to the environment and sustainability.
Whether you want a full-day workshop that ends in a puppet show or a shorter instrument-making session, the Puppet Workshop will come to your venue and show you how to use recycled materials to create your own individual work of art.
Workshops currently on offer:
Puppets - this is a day-long workshop resulting in complete fully-painted and costumed puppets.
Alternatively, a much shorter workshop is possible using paper-pulp made to a traditional ancient recipe.
Musical instruments - maracas (shakers), tambourines or djembes (African drums). Cardboard, paper-mache and paint.
Maracas can be made in a couple of hours, but allow a whole day for African drums.
Large vases - big vessels created using twisted paper/paper-mache and then vibrantly painted. This is a day-long workshop
Sea-monsters, large animals or other strange creatures - same technique as for large vessels. Ideal if you're planning a carnival or community event. This is a day-long workshop.
